SONOFF MINI PM Zigbee power meter (MINI-ZB1GP) is a highly specialized, extremely compact Zigbee 3.0 device designed to solve a specific smart home problem: how to monitor the energy consumption of critical appliances without the risk of accidentally turning them off?

Unlike standard smart relays, the MINI PM does not contain a switching mechanism. It is a pure, always-on energy meter. This makes it the perfect and safe solution for monitoring refrigerators, freezers, NAS servers, and medical equipment, where an accidental touch in an app could cause a disaster.

Key features

• Always-on pass-through design: Since it physically lacks a relay, it is impossible to accidentally cut power to the connected appliance due to an automation error or a mistaken click in the app. It is simply installed in-line and passively monitors the electricity flowing through it.

• Bi-directional energy metering: It does not only measure energy consumed from the grid; it also measures energy fed back into the grid. This makes it an incredibly affordable and accurate way to monitor energy production from plug-in balcony solar panels or smaller photovoltaic systems.

• Appliance state detection: Since you know the load will not be turned off, you can use power readings to create highly reliable automations. For example, you can trigger a notification when your washing machine's power consumption drops below 5 W, informing you that the cycle is complete.

• High 16 A capacity: Despite its small size, it can safely handle continuous loads of up to 16 amperes (approx. 3840 W), making it perfectly suitable for high-load appliances such as water heaters and washing machines.

• Zigbee router with Turbo mode: Since it is permanently connected to mains power, it acts as a highly reliable Zigbee router. It actively repeats the signal of other Zigbee sensors and features a "Turbo mode" that pushes the signal through thick walls and extends the range of your mesh network.

• Extremely compact design: Measuring only 32 × 29 × 15.9 mm, it easily hides behind standard wall sockets or in cramped electrical junction boxes without requiring major wiring modifications.
